The role
We are looking for a Commonwealth Government Practice
Coordinator to join our Commonwealth
Government practice, based in
Canberra, on a full-time, permanent
basis.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the
firm's flagship practice areas, supporting the operational
requirements of the practice and helping to drive the delivery
of high-quality service to Commonwealth Government clients.
Working closely with Partners, lawyers, Business Services teams
and government stakeholders, you will coordinate reporting,
panel administration, security clearance processes and a range
of practice support activities, while also providing broader
paralegal support across the team.
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a highly organised
professional who enjoys building strong relationships, managing
competing priorities and contributing to the ongoing success of
a busy legal practice.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operational and administrative
requirements of the Commonwealth Government practice, including
panel management, reporting and stakeholder coordination
- Coordinate Australian Government security clearance
processes, working closely with employees, government agencies
and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate Commonwealth Government reporting obligations,
ensuring accurate and timely submission in accordance with
client and panel requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external
stakeholders regarding panel arrangements, matter
administration and client-specific requirements
- Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, legal documents
and other practice-related materials
- Conduct legal research and assist with the preparation of
briefs, schedules and summaries
- Maintain reporting data, practice resources and key
information repositories
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to
the development of efficient and consistent reporting and
administrative processes
Requirements
- Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain and
maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Previous experience in a legal support, practice support,
coordination, administration or paralegal role within a law
firm or government
- Experience working with government clients, panel
arrangements or reporting requirements will be highly
regarded
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to
build effective relationships across all levels of an
organisation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
including the ability to draft professional correspondence and
documentation
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the
ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to
delivering excellent client service
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word
and Excel
