A market-leader in community program support is seeking a resourceful Occupational Therapist to join their team on a casual, part-time or full-time basis. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who would primarily support paediatric clients

 Job Responsibilities:
  • Assessing the home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
  • Skill Development in self-care, self-management, home management.
  • Identifying high risk tasks in workplaces and suggesting safer alternatives.
  • Coaching clients through tasks they find challenging (e.g. wheelchair, orthotic and prosthetic devices).
  • Modification of environment (e.g. home, work, school etc.) and adaptation of processes.
  • Advising on assistive technologies to help clients with daily activities.
  • Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help clients gain skills for independence.
  • Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
  • Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
  • Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health and preparing reports.







Requirements

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and therapy programs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take care of clients with varied personalities and disabilities.
  • Computer proficiency with various tasks.
  • Ability to assess patients condition and work with treatment plans.
