Established in 1871, the Art
Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the
Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery
acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people.
The Art Gallery attracts around 2.6 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus the Art Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Art Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

About the Role
Undertakes registration activities for
assigned exhibitions and tours, including organising logistics, producing and
archiving documentation, and coordinating the installation of borrowed
artworks. This role ensures that all work is completed to the highest standards
of risk management and museum best practice, while also achieving compliance
with relevant governing legislation, contracts policies, museum conventions and
standards, and working towards sustainability and efficiency.

What Technical/Soft Skills you require
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or ability to demonstrate equivalent thinking and ability gained through experience.
- Understanding of museum registration practices.
- Experience working in museum/gallery environment or similar organisation.
- Demonstrable administration and communication skills with the ability to organise and coordinate.
- Demonstrated ability to work Microsoft products as well as collection databases.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to oversee artwork transits at external locations.
- Willingness to occasional demands for meeting art shipments/VIP couriers out of standard hours.
- Ability to successfully apply for ASIC card.
