We are seeking an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Representative to support First Nations clients and their families through culturally informed engagement, connection and support services.
 
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in helping clients strengthen their connection to culture, community and identity while working collaboratively with Elders, community organisations and service providers to improve outcomes.
This is a flexible part-time opportunity (approximately 0.6 FTE / 3 days per week) with flexibility around how hours are worked for the right candidate.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support First Nations clients to strengthen cultural identity, connection and wellbeing.
  • Facilitate cultural activities, groups and community engagement initiatives.
  • Build relationships with Elders, community organisations and support services.
  • Participate in support planning and service coordination activities.
  • Advocate for culturally safe and inclusive practices.
  • Provide cultural guidance and support to staff and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to positive outcomes for clients, families and communities.
About You
  • You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and are recognised within your community.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
  • Strong understanding of cultural connection, healing and community engagement.
  • Experience facilitating groups, activities or community programs.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Requirements
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified position.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, or related discipline.
  • Current Working With Vulnerable People registration.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
