Meet Kidscape Early Learning Centre

Kidscape Early Learning Centre Two Rivers sits on the border of Buronga and Mildura, right where the Murray meets its tributaries, hence the name. The centre supports children aged 0 to 6 across five rooms, with meals prepared onsite by a qualified chef and families kept in the loop through an online parent portal. Around four in five staff have been part of the Kidscape family for close to a decade, creating a team culture built on genuine loyalty and mutual support. As the only childcare service on the New South Wales side of the river, Kidscape plays an important role for local families, including those commuting in from Wentworth and the growing Golgol area. With a strong on-site team and an ideal setting for outdoor, nature-based learning, Kidscape is ready for a director who can bring energy, direction and heart back to the centre.

Where You'll Make an Impact

Kidscape Early Learning Centre is seeking a full-time Centre Director, based in Buronga, NSW, just across the river from Mildura.

This is an opportunity to lead a centre with real foundations already in place. A capable 2IC and admin team currently keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, and around 80 per cent of educators have been with the service for close to a decade, meaning you'll be stepping into a stable, experienced team rather than starting from scratch. What the centre needs now is a confident, hands-on leader who can bring clear direction, renewed energy and a genuine connection with staff and families.

This is an off-the-floor leadership role, with the expectation that you'll step in to support your team when it's genuinely needed, not a desk-bound position. You'll have real scope to shape culture, lift morale and grow the centre's presence in a community that's set to keep expanding.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead staffing, rostering, recruitment and professional development across the centre
  • Build occupancy and grow the centre's presence in the local community
  • Manage events and seasonal activities that bring families and the wider community together
  • Drive high-quality educational programming in line with regulatory requirements
  • Champion family engagement, inclusion and a safe, nurturing environment for every child
  • Oversee compliance, reporting and quality improvement planning
  • Promote the centre's story through local marketing and social media
  • Support your team hands-on when they need it most

Is This You?

The successful candidate will hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and bring at least one year of experience in a Director role, or as a 2IC ready to take the next step up.

You must also hold:

  • First Aid qualification in an Education and Care setting
  • Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certification
  • Valid Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • Child Safety Training 1,2,3,4

Candidates who bring the following will be highly regarded:

  • A hands-on leadership style, visible and present with your team rather than office-based
  • A genuine passion for outdoor and nature-based learning
  • Strong relationship-building skills with families, educators and the wider community

What You'll Bring

  • People-first leadership: you know that a supported team is a loyal one, and you lead with visibility and care
  • Resilience and adaptability: comfortable steadying a team and building consistency in a role that's had some recent change
  • Community-mindedness: genuinely energised by building connections beyond the centre gates
  • Initiative: happy to bring fresh ideas, whether that's community excursions or ways to re-energise staff culture

Make Your Mark

This is more than a management role, it's a chance to bring stability, direction and fresh energy to a team that's ready for strong leadership. With the wetlands ten minutes' walk away, farmland at the back door, and a community that's growing on both sides of the river, there's real scope to build something distinctive here: a centre known for its outdoor learning, its community ties and the way it looks after its people.

What's in It for You

Kidscape Early Learning Centre is offering a competitive salary of $110,000 to $140,000 + Super, commensurate with experience, along with:

  • $3,000 Sign-on Bonus
  • Relocation Assistance available for the right candidate
  • Performance-based Bonus opportunities
  • Above Award Rate
  • Access to the ECEC Worker Retention Grant
  • Flexible Working Arrangements, negotiable for the right candidate
  • Birthday Leave and Childcare Discount
