As our WHS Administration Officer, you will:

  • Be a friendly first point of contact for routine WHS and staff wellbeing enquiries, referring more complex matters when needed.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across WHS, wellbeing and safety activities, and other tasks as reasonably requested.
  • Keep our WHS systems, registers, records and documentation accurate, organised and up to date.
  • Assist with incident, hazard and corrective action administration, including monitoring and following up outstanding actions.
  • Help coordinate workplace inspections, emergency preparedness, fire safety and contractor WHS documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for workers’ compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work activities.
  • Assist with coordinating WHS inductions, training and wellbeing activities and maintaining completion records.
  • Compile WHS information and prepare routine reports, spreadsheets and summaries using established processes and templates.
  • Provide administrative support for WHS projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Plan and organise your workload, manage competing priorities and complete allocated activities within agreed timeframes.

Mandatory Requirements  

  • Relevant qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, business administration, or a related discipline, and/or relevant experience in a WHS or administrative support environment.  
  • Basic knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes, standards and of the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act and the RRTW process. 
  • Practical understanding of risk management principles and the ability to support hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, and WHS record-keeping processes in accordance with established procedures.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and use information systems. 
  • Ability to work well as part of an innovative team as well as work independently as required. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, processes, and operational requirements.  
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive working relationships with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.  
  • Be flexible and adaptable in approach and feel comfortable working with ambiguity. 
  • Your own registered vehicle and current driver license 
  • Be eligible for, or hold a current Working with Children Blue Card 
  • Be eligible for, or hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Card.
