Expressions of Interest for a Monitoring Analyst from 12 October 2026 to 9 April 2027. This role will ideally be based in Brisbane or Parramatta however other locations may be considered.

Deliver the compliance monitoring functions at the NHVR across a growing footprint of NHVR jurisdictions to ensure a nationally consistent, effective and coordinated regulatory response that ensures a safe and compliant heavy vehicle industry.  The position will be contributing to the implementation of the National Regulatory Model. 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Manage dialogue between NHVR Analysis Intelligence and Risk Team, NHVR’s Prosecutions, stakeholders and industry.
  • Engage directly with industry participants who are subject to NHVR regulatory instruments e.g. Court orders.
  • Monitor compliance with NHVR regulatory instruments e.g. improvements notices as appropriate.
  • Provide frameworks, templates and assist in the development of assurance plans to measure behavioural change post regulatory intervention.
  • Work autonomously and actively participate in multidisciplinary teams to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, customers and jurisdictional partners.
  • Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
  • Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Communication – Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage relationships and partnerships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and a sound ability to influence and negotiate desired outcomes
  • Analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills – Ability to successfully apply skills to complex problems, including the interpretation, analysis and evaluation of a diverse range of data and information
  • Have an intermediate level of understanding of the use of the Microsoft Suite of products specifically Excel.
  • Ability to apply varying measurement frameworks to evaluated interventions
  • Independence – Ability to work autonomously, often without supervision, and to act proactively to new or unexpected events, while demonstrating good judgement for appropriate issue escalation.

Qualifications and Experience

Highly Regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field
