Join a growing organisation within the transport and logistics sector that operates across multiple business entities. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of a close-knit finance team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions in a busy and fast-paced environment. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for extension or permanency for the right candidate.

Your New RoleThis is a hands-on role with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, while also providing wider support across accounting, reconciliations, reporting and payroll administration.Your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end Accounts Payable processing across multiple entities
  • Investigating and correcting invoice and AP processing discrepancies
  • Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable activities, including a small volume of customer invoicing
  • Posting journals and supporting month-end accounting processes
  • Performing bank, balance sheet and credit card reconciliations
  • Processing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll administration, including job card and time attendance data entry
  • Producing reports from accounting and finance systems
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with general accounting and administrative duties
  • Maintaining high levels of accuracy across all financial data and reporting

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Junior Accountant or Accounts Payable position
  • An accounting qualification, studies in progress, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes
  • Experience with accounts payable processing and reconciliations
  • Exposure to intercompany accounting transactions
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookups and formulas
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
  • Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as Pronto, Redmap and/or Concur will be highly regarded
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive and team-focused approach
