The HSE Advisor will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Supervisors and workforce to promote and maintain the client's Zero Harm culture throughout the outage. This role will be responsible for providing practical safety leadership and ensuring compliance with legislative, client and project-specific requirements across all shutdown activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE support to project teams and supervisors.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all work fronts.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and field leadership activities.
- Review and verify SWMS, JHAs, permits and risk assessments.
- Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and site procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action processes.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety initiatives.
- Support contractor management and workforce engagement activities.
- Maintain safety records, compliance documentation and reporting requirements.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience as an HSE Advisor within power generation, shutdowns, mining, heavy industry, construction or maintenance environments.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-risk work activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Current White Card.
Highly Regarded
- Previous power station outage or shutdown experience.
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Experience within the energy, utilities or power generation sectors.
