About the Company

Our client is a well-established professional services organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their collaborative payroll team.

This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys variety and working across different payroll environments. Rather than being responsible for one internal payroll, you’ll manage payroll activities across a portfolio of clients, providing accurate, compliant and timely payroll services.

Working within a small and supportive team, you’ll have exposure to a broad range of payroll requirements while building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple client accounts.
  • Assist with new client onboarding and employee setup.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including tax, superannuation and employment details.
  • Process monthly payroll data, leave and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and manage payroll tax and superannuation lodgements.
  • Assist with WorkCover and workers compensation requirements.
  • Support month-end and EOFY payroll reporting.
  • Process terminations, redundancies, LSL and other complex payroll requirements.
  • Respond to payroll queries and provide a high level of client service.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve payroll issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous end-to-end payroll experience, ideally across multiple payrolls.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including STP, superannuation and payroll tax.
  • Experience managing high-volume payroll processing.
  • Understanding of terminations, redundancies, LSL, WorkCover and payroll reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • A hands-on, collaborative approach with a genuine client-service mindset.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Experience with HR3 is highly regarded.

Key Benefits

  • Join a supportive and collaborative payroll team.
  • Opportunity to develop your payroll and client management skills.
  • Work in a role that offers more variety than a traditional single-client payroll position.
  • Join a well-established and growing professional services organisation.
