Legal Assistant – Wills & Estates
CBD Location | Full-Time
An established and highly regarded Melbourne law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its busy Wills & Estates team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established practice with a strong reputation in private client work and a long history of advising individuals, families and business owners on a broad range of estate planning and estate administration matters, as as well as complex estate litigation matters.
The firm offers a professional yet supportive working environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality client service.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day support to solicitors across Wills & Estates matters

Preparing and formatting correspondence and legal documentation
-
Assisting with Wills, Powers of Attorney and estate planning documentation
-
Assisting solicitors with a variety of estate litigation matters, including claims against estates, contested Wills and other estate-related disputes
-
Assisting with probate and Letters of Administration matters
-
Preparing court and probate documentation
-
Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors and external parties
-
Managing files, including opening, closing and maintaining accurate records
-
Diary and appointment management
-
Preparing briefs and correspondence
-
Assisting with billing, invoicing and general file administration
About You:
-
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within Wills & Estates, Private Client or Litigation.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
-
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
A professional and client-focused approach
-
Strong Microsoft Office and document management skills
-
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team
Experience with probate, estate administration or estate planning will be highly regarded, although candidates with strong general legal support experience are encouraged to apply.
