Your new company
You will join a well-established public sector organisation responsible for planning and delivering transport infrastructure projects across Brisbane. Working within the Roads Engineering team, you will contribute to quality design outcomes that meet legislative requirements, organisational standards and the needs of the wider community.

Your new role
As an Experienced Road Designer, you will prepare detailed designs and documentation for a range of transport infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Design Manager and broader project team, you will ensure work is completed to the required quality, timeframe and budget.Your key responsibilities will include:

Preparing road and transport infrastructure designs using AutoCAD and 12d Producing accurate technical drawings, plans and supporting documentation Applying relevant design guidelines, legislation and organisational policies Conducting site inspections to collect field measurements and make technical observations Providing customers and project stakeholders with technical advice Managing your workload and priorities to meet agreed project deadlines Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of the Quality Management System Contributing to a collaborative team environment through knowledge sharing and a strong customer focus

This is an initial six-month contract working 36.25 hours per week across five working days. The role is based in Brisbane.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated experience preparing designs and technical documentation for road or transport infrastructure projects.You will also require:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 12d
  • Experience conducting site inspections and obtaining field measurements
  • An understanding of relevant road design guidelines, standards and legislative requirements
  • Strong technical documentation and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines
  • The ability to work collaboratively with design managers, technical teams and stakeholders
  • A current drivers licence
  • A White Card or Blue Card is desirable
