Overview of Responsibilities 

• Provide holistic and culturally safe care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, communities and health care providers, supporting continuity of care and access to services
• Support community-led health and wellbeing initiatives and contribute to local health promotion activities
• Share health information in a culturally appropriate way that empowers people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing
• Carry out clinical assessments, tests and procedures within your scope of practice while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Must have

• AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner
• Certificate IV or higher in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
• Experience working as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner in a community, primary health care or related setting
• Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, communities and stakeholders
