About the Role

Securecorp is currently seeking experienced and professional Full-Time and Casual Security Officers to join our team at the iconic Southgate Retail Precinct in Melbourne’s CBD.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your security experience and develop skills in Control Room operations.

You will work across the precinct, providing a professional security presence and exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Full-Time positions operate on a rotating roster of 2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights, including weekends and public holidays. Casual positions offer flexible shifts across days and nights.

A current Control Room licence/endorsement is essential to undertake Control Room duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Southgate Security Team, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing a professional and highly visible security presence throughout the site.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to tenants, retailers, contractors, and members of the public.
  • Conducting routine patrols of the precinct and surrounding areas.
  • Monitoring CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and other security technology.
  • Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and customer enquiries.
  • Managing access control and enforcing site procedures.
  • Completing accurate incident reports and maintaining detailed records.
  • Identifying potential risks and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assisting with Control Room operations, including CCTV monitoring, alarm response, communications, and coordination of security activities.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Victorian Security Licence with Control Room endorsement.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in the security industry, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
  • Previous Control Room experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A professional approach to conflict resolution and incident management.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively monitor and respond to incidents.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A professional presentation and a strong commitment to safety and security.
