Street Cleaner - Backfill | Orange City Council

Early Morning Shifts | 4:00am - 1:00pm | Casual Backfill Opportunities

About the Role

You will support Orange City Council's Street Cleaning Team, helping keep Orange's streets, footpaths and public areas clean, safe and presentable.

This position will provide backfill coverage during periods of planned leave as well as potential future unplanned leave.

Your duties will include:

• Operating mechanical street sweepers and other plant equipment
• Sweeping streets, footpaths and public areas
• Cleaning paved areas and collecting leaves and litter
• Assisting with winter salt spreading operations
• Undertaking general cleaning and labouring duties as required
• Following workplace health and safety procedures

About You

To be considered, you must hold:

• Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence
• Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

You will also ideally have:

• Previous experience in street cleaning, labouring, civil works or a similar environment
• Experience operating plant or machinery
• A strong commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliability and availability for 4:00am starts and weekend work
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
