Project Manager

Retaining Wall Senior Project Manager role, site based for a growing reputable Brisbane business.

Your new companyHays is currently partnering with a well-established Queensland contractor specialising in retaining wall construction, civil works and associated infrastructure projects. Backed by a larger group with complementary civil, plant and haulage divisions, this business continues to experience strong growth across South East Queensland.Due to an expanding project portfolio, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of projects from tender review through to delivery and final handover.
Your new roleReporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple retaining wall and civil construction projects, ensuring safety, programme, quality and commercial outcomes are achieved.Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing projects from tender review through to completion and handover
• Reviewing scopes, specifications, methodologies and commercial risks
• Contributing to tender submissions and pre-construction planning
• Managing project programmes, labour, plant, subcontractors and resources
• Leading site delivery teams and overseeing construction activities
• Managing budgets, forecasting, cost control and project profitability
• Preparing and submitting progress claims in accordance with contractual requirements
• Identifying and securing variations, claims and extensions of time
• Building and maintaining strong client, consultant and subcontractor relationships
• Ensuring all quality, compliance and handover documentation is completed
• Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring HSEQ requirements are met
• Providing regular project reporting on the programme, financial performance, risks and opportunities

What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil construction
• Experience delivering retaining walls, earthworks, structures, subdivisions, infrastructure or similar projects
• Strong commercial and financial management capability
• Demonstrated experience managing progress claims, variations, EOTs and forecasting
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications and project documentation
• Experience reviewing tenders and contributing to successful submissions
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
• White Card and unrestricted Australian working rights
