Job description
AustCorp Executive is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Field Service Technician for a permanent opportunity based in Chinchilla. The role is open to local candidates or DIDO applicants, with accommodation provided.
This is a hands-on mobile service role working directly with customers across industrial, agricultural and heavy equipment environments. You’ll attend breakdowns and service calls, complete hydraulic hose repairs and installations, and provide practical mechanical support in the field.
The Role
You’ll work from a fully equipped mobile service vehicle and be responsible for:
- Attending scheduled and breakdown service calls
- Repairing, assembling and installing hydraulic and industrial hoses and fittings
- Diagnosing faults and providing practical solutions
- Carrying out field-based mechanical and service work
- Maintaining your service vehicle, tools and equipment
- Completing work orders and service documentation
- Providing professional customer service
- Assisting in the workshop when required
- Participating in a rotating after-hours on-call roster
About You
This role would suit someone with experience as a:
- Mechanical Fitter
- Field Service Technician
- Diesel Mechanic
- Hydraulic Technician
- Heavy Equipment Technician
- Agricultural Mechanic
- Industrial Maintenance Technician
You’ll ideally have:
- Mechanical, fitting, hydraulic or similar hands-on experience
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using tools and measuring equipment
- A current manual driver’s licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A strong work ethic and reliable attitude
- Full Australian working rights
Previous hydraulic hose experience is highly regarded, but not essential if you have a solid mechanical background. A relevant mechanical trade qualification is desirable.
