The Opportunity
St Joseph's School Kingswood is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Years Teacher to join our thriving Catholic community in 2027. Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and our wider community, you will contribute to a culture where wellbeing and learning are prioritised and where staff and students are empowered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the Catholic identity and Misson of the school.
- Design and deliver engaging, learning program aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the teaching of literacy and numeracy, data-informed practices to cater for a diverse range of learners. Experience with EDI would be advantageous.
- Employ high-impact teaching strategies to create inclusive, challenging and enriching learning opportunities for all students.
- Differentiate learning and develop personalised learning plans to support individual student growth.
- Create safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environments that promote student wellbeing, engagement and agency.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress using a variety of assessment methodologies. Employ effective classroom management strategies that support positive behaviour and successful learning outcomes.
- Develop positive and collaborative relationships with students, families, colleagues and the broader community. Collaborate as an active member of Professional Learning Teams and contribute to continuous school improvement initiatives.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a strong culture of child safety and wellbeing.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and reflective educator who is committed to excellence and understands the importance of strong relationships in helping children and communities to connect and flourish.
You build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues and are motivated to support every child to achieve their full potential.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
- Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education South Australia (or willingness to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging and effective teaching and learning programs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Well-developed organisational, problem-solving and ICT skills.
- A commitment to supporting the Catholic identity, values and culture of the school.
- Current Working with Children Check, Catholic Clearance, Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect certification, and relevant First Aid qualifications.
