Industrial Recycling & Processing Plant

DNA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for our client, a leading Australian resource recovery and recycling organisation based in Bridgewater, TAS.

This is a hands-on role maintaining heavy industrial processing equipment, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding and plant reliability.

Hours

• Day Shift: 7:30am - 3:30pm
• Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
• Monday to Friday
• Must be flexible to work across both shifts and assist with after-hours breakdowns when required

What You'll Be Doing

• Preventative and scheduled plant maintenance
• Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repairs
• Maintain shredders, crushers, conveyors and recycling equipment
• Fitting, fabrication and welding work
• Assist with shutdowns and major maintenance
• Identify potential equipment failures before breakdowns occur
• Work with production teams to minimise downtime
• Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards

What We're Looking For

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner or equivalent
• Strong industrial plant maintenance experience
• Experience with shredding machines, crushing equipment and/or recycling processing machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown maintenance skills
• HR Truck Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Relevant welding tickets/qualifications
• Ability to read technical and engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and equipment isolation
• Reliable, practical and solutions-focused

• Flexible to work both shifts and after-hours when required

Experience within recycling, waste processing, quarrying, crushing, mining-related processing, timber processing, heavy manufacturing or similar industrial environments will be highly regarded.

Electrical disconnect/reconnect licence is advantageous but not essential.
