Catholic Special School brings together Our Lady of La Vang Campus and St Patrick's Campus to create a nurturing, inclusive, and contemporary learning community for children and young people with intellectual disability and complex learning needs.

Catholic Special School is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Occupational Therapists to join our multidisciplinary team in 2027. Multiple positions are available, with flexible employment arrangements ranging from part-time to full-time.
About the Role
As an  Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with teachers, education support officers, families, and allied health professionals to enhance student participation, independence, wellbeing, and learning outcomes.
You will provide consultation, coaching, assessment, and intervention within authentic educational settings, helping to build the capacity of school communities to support diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Catholic Special School.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services within an educational setting.
  • Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary team members to support student participation, engagement, and learning.
  • Build the capability of educators and school teams through coaching, modelling, and professional learning.
  • Partner with families and external service providers to develop coordinated and effective support strategies.
  • Contribute to individual planning processes and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Support the implementation of inclusive, student-centred practices across both campuses.
  • Participate actively in school improvement initiatives and collaborative projects.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and maintain contemporary knowledge of educational and occupational therapy practices.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and young people with disability.
  • Understanding of contemporary educational and therapeutic practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous professional growth.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Complete Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) training requirements.
  • Satisfy all CESA employment screening requirements.
  • Maintain eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
