The Role
Working as part of our Blast & Paint team, you will undertake surface preparation and protective coating activities across a range of maintenance, shutdown and project scopes.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Abrasive blasting and surface preparation to required specifications
  • Removal of rust, scale, existing coatings and surface contaminants
  • Application of protective coating systems using airless spray, conventional spray, brush and roller
  • Correct mixing and application of coatings in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Conducting coating repairs, touch-ups and recoating as required
  • Operating blast pots, compressors, spray equipment and associated tooling
  • Completing equipment inspections, cleaning and basic maintenance
  • Working safely within confined spaces, at heights and around mobile plant and equipment
  • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and housekeeping

  
About You
We are looking for people who take pride in their work, work well within a team and are interested in developing their skills within the protective coatings industry.
To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • Construction White Card
  • Relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces certification
  • 3-5 years Previous industrial blasting and protective coating experience
  • Experience using airless spray equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  
Highly regarded but not essential:

  • III Surface reparation and coating application
  • High Risk Work Licence (HRWL)
  • EWP licence
  • AMPP/NACE coating inspection qualifications
  • UHP water jetting operators & assistants
  • EonCoat or other specialised coating application experience
  • Previous mining, shutdown or fixed-plant maintenance experience
