Gardening Educator

This is a hands-on role combining horticulture, education and people skills.
You’ll spend your time outdoors working with participants, demonstrating gardening techniques and sharing your knowledge of edible plants, soil health and sustainable growing practices.
About the Role
You’ll help participants learn about:
- Growing vegetables, herbs, fruit and other edible plants
- Soil preparation, planting and garden maintenance
- Sustainable and environmentally responsible gardening
- Seed raising and plant propagation
- Composting, mulching and water-wise gardening
- Identifying and managing common pests and plant issues
- Seasonal planting and harvesting
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Practical experience in horticulture, gardening or growing edible plants
- A sound understanding of sustainable gardening practices and soil health
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence engaging with and teaching adults from different backgrounds
- A friendly, patient and approachable personality
- The ability to demonstrate practical skills and encourage others to have a go
- A genuine passion for plants and sustainable gardening
