Chef – Italian Restaurant

L'Italiano Restaurant is a well-established, full-service Italian restaurant located in Rockingham, Western Australia. We are currently seeking a passionate, qualified and experienced Chef to join our busy kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef who is passionate about authentic Italian cuisine and enjoys working in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.

About the Role

As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Italian cuisine while maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency and hygiene standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking a wide range of authentic Italian dishes, including pasta, pizzas, risottos, seafood and meat dishes.
• Preparing fresh ingredients, sauces and handmade pasta in accordance with established recipes.
• Assisting with menu planning and developing new seasonal dishes.
• Monitoring food quality, presentation and portion control to ensure consistency.
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
• Managing stock levels, ordering ingredients and minimising food wastage.
• Supervising and assisting kitchen staff during service.
• Ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently during busy service periods.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
• At least one year of experience working as a Chef.
• Demonstrated knowledge of authentic Italian cooking techniques and cuisine.
• Experience preparing fresh pasta and traditional Italian dishes.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, professional and committed to producing high-quality food.
