$80,000 - $85,000 (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare and properly present food for regular service and functions
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff
  • Collaborate with Restaurant Manager to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, the likely number of customers, portion size and final menu price
  • Provide costings of new menu items
  • Check the quantity and quality of received products to ensure correct items are as ordered and standards are met
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce wastage
  • Inspect equipment, work areas and general supplies to ensure conformance to established health and safety standards
  • Instruct and train other kitchen workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation, etc. of food
  • Monitor and enforce sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Assist in recruitment and induction of kitchen staff
  • Discuss with the Restaurant Manager any equipment purchases and repairs required
  • Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties and banquets
  • Other managerial tasks associated with the operation of the kitchen, as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant AQF Diploma and minimum 1-year relevant experience.

Cook (ANZSCO: ****** - Cook)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $85,000 (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients and menu items for daily service.
  • Follow recipes, portion guidelines and presentation standards.
  • Prepare meals to meet customers’ dietary requirements.
  • Prepare and store meat, poultry, vegetables and other ingredients in accordance with kitchen procedures.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and operate appliances and equipment safely.
  • Replenish ingredients and supplies during service, checking that items meet required standards.
  • Use and maintain equipment at the cooking station correctly.
  • Follow health, safety and food hygiene requirements at all times.
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen work areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant AQF Cert III including 2 years of on-the-job experience or Cert IV
  • Applicants with qualifications must demonstrate 1 year of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may replace the requirement of having a qualification.

Restaurant Manager (ANZSCO: ****** - Cafe or Restaurant Manager)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $85,000 (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee the restaurant’s daily operations, setting service goals and coordinating activities during each shift.
  • Assess staffing needs, recruit employees, prepare rosters and ensure adequate coverage for service.
  • Train, supervise and coach staff to maintain consistent service and workplace standards.
  • Ensure staff follow restaurant procedures, security requirements and applicable alcohol service regulations.
  • Monitor food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices across the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Oversee food and beverage service, checking that dishes meet recipe, portion and presentation standards.
  • Work with the Chef to plan menus, taking account of customer demand, ingredient costs and operational requirements.
  • Analyse food and beverage costs, set menu prices and monitor portion sizes and preparation volumes to minimise waste.
  • Prepare and review budgets, track expenses and implement measures to control operating costs.
  • Monitor sales and revenue, assess performance against targets and identify opportunities to improve results.
  • Forecast food, beverage and non-food supply needs, manage stock levels and place orders with suppliers.
  • Negotiate purchase prices and maintain relationships with preferred suppliers.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and complaints promptly to maintain service quality.
  • Plan and supervise marketing and promotional activities to attract customers and support sales.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant AQF Diploma and 1 year relevant experience.
