IB Science Teacher with Year 9 Commerce

Prospero Teaching is delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking independent IB school in South Sydney to recruit an IB Science Teacher with the capacity to also teach Year 9 Commerce. This is a full-time role commencing Term 1, 2026.

About the Science teaching role:

• Teach Science within the IB framework across secondary year levels

• Deliver Year 9 Commerce as part of the school’s business-focused curriculum

• Work collaboratively within a highly supportive and innovative teaching team

• Inspire students through engaging and inquiry-based learning

IB Science Teacher with Year 9 Commerce responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality IB Science lessons that foster curiosity and independent thinking

• Support the development of the Commerce curriculum at Year 9

• Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress

• Contribute to faculty initiatives and whole-school programs

IB Science Teacher Selection Criteria

• Recognised secondary teaching qualification and accreditation (NESA or interstate equivalent)

• Demonstrated experience teaching Science, ideally within an IB or inquiry-based framework

• Ability and enthusiasm to teach Year 9 Commerce

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Commitment to student wellbeing, engagement, and holistic learning
