The role
Suited to someone with around two years' experience in a similar accounts role, across both AP and AR,  ideally in a similar professional services firm. 
You'll take full ownership of accounts payable and support with accounts receivable and sub-consultant claim processing, resolving any discrepancies with Project Managers and the Project Accountant.

Key responsibilities

  • End-to-end accounts payable: processing supplier invoices, matching to POs and approvals, preparing payment runs, issuing remittances, supplier statement reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations (approx. 100 invoices/month)
  • Accounts receivable support: assisting with progress claims, entering approved variations, debtor follow-ups, and matching remittances to invoices (approx. 25 invoices/month)
  • Sub-consultant claim processing: matching claims to billing schedules, coordinating Project Manager sign-off, resolving variances, and tracking claims against Security of Payments Act timeframes
  • General finance administration and support with month-end close

Skills and experience

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar transactional accounts role
  • Prior experience in an architecture, engineering or professional services within progress billing/milestone-based invoicing environment
  • Strong attention to detail across data entry, coding, matching and reconciling
  • Proactive, organised and comfortable following up directly with Project Managers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and discretion with confidential information
  • Familiarity with the Security of Payments Act
  • Comfortable with Project Management and Accounting software and can pick up new processes quickly
