Position Summary
The Marketing Specialist supports the College’s market development and enrolment objectives through market research, course positioning, education-agent engagement, distribution-channel development and strategic partnerships.
The position analyses market information, identifies growth opportunities and provides recommendations to the Marketing Director regarding target markets, student demand, course offerings and partner-channel strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and analyse student demand, competitor activity, demographic trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for the College’s existing and prospective course offerings.
- Analyse enrolment patterns, student enquiries, course performance, education-agent activity and market feedback to identify trends and support evidence-based marketing decisions.
- Provide recommendations to the Marketing Director regarding target markets, course positioning, market-entry opportunities and the College’s competitive points of difference.
- Research the needs and characteristics of different student segments and geographic markets, and recommend suitable approaches for communicating the College’s course offerings to those markets.
- Evaluate the College’s course portfolio against market demand, competitor offerings and student preferences, and provide recommendations regarding potential market opportunities.
- Advise on education-agent and distribution-channel strategies, including agent segmentation, partner engagement, market coverage and channel-development opportunities.
- Establish, develop and maintain professional relationships with education agents, industry representatives, community organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and develop suitable B2B, industry, community and education-sector partnerships to expand the College’s market reach and support sustainable enrolment growth.
- Plan and coordinate online and face-to-face education-agent workshops, information sessions, campus visits and partner meetings to strengthen market understanding and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare presentations, course information and partner communications for education agents and other stakeholders, ensuring information is accurate and suitable for the relevant market.
- Monitor education-agent engagement, workshop participation, partner feedback and channel performance, and prepare reports and recommendations for the Marketing Director.
- Work with Admissions, Academic, Student Services and other internal teams to obtain accurate course information, understand student demand and support consistent communication with external stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of developments within the Australian international education and vocational education sectors, including competitor activity, market conditions and relevant regulatory changes.
- Ensure information provided to education agents, prospective partners and other external stakeholders complies with the College’s policies, brand standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
- A relevant qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in marketing, market development, stakeholder engagement or channel development.
- Experience within international education, vocational education or student recruitment is highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of international student markets and education-agent distribution channels.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, interpret data and provide practical recommendations.
- Experience coordinating education-agent workshops, information sessions, partner meetings or stakeholder events.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Strong market awareness, commercial acumen and the ability to identify emerging trends, stakeholder needs and business opportunities.
- A conscientious, detail-oriented and responsible approach to work, with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional presentation and confidence representing the College at external meetings, workshops and industry events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, presentation software and relevant business platforms.
- Willingness and ability to undertake occasional domestic or interstate travel as required.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours on occasion, including evenings or weekends, where required for workshops, events or partner engagement activities.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Proficiency in an additional language relevant to the College’s target markets will be highly regarded.
