An exciting opportunity exists to join a specialist Defence capability supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of complex maritime and joint training activities. Working within a highly collaborative operational environment, you will engage with a broad range of stakeholders to support critical training outcomes across Australia and internationally. Based in Sydney, this role offers exposure to high-profile operational activities in a secure environment.

Your new role
As an Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in the planning, preparation, execution and review of large-scale training activities. You will coordinate operational requirements, manage documentation, facilitate stakeholder engagement and ensure activities are delivered in accordance with schedule, governance and security requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating training and exercise planning activities
  • Managing operational documentation, schedules and reporting
  • Liaising with Defence, government and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the delivery of complex maritime and joint training activities
  • Maintaining records, repositories and lessons learned databases
  • Coordinating access, communications and logistical requirements
  • Ensuring governance, compliance and security requirements are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational outcomes

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance
  • Experience within operational planning, training, exercise coordination or military environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of operational planning processes and Defence systems
  • Advanced organisational and administrative capabilities
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including reporting and document management
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
  • A willingness to undertake domestic and international travel when required

Experience supporting maritime, joint, combined or multi-domain operations, along with simulation or training environment experience, will be highly regarded.
