Your new role
As an Engineering Technical Officer - Engineering Design, you will provide civil engineering design, drafting and technical support across the organisation's capital works and operational infrastructure programs.

  • Preparing concept and detailed designs for roads, drainage, parking facilities, pathways, cycleways and streetscape projects.
  • Producing engineering drawings, quantity estimates and Bills of Quantities using civil design software.
  • Coordinating surveying, geotechnical investigations and other technical inputs required for project delivery.
  • Undertaking site inspections, field investigations and surveys to support infrastructure design outcomes.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, utility providers and government agencies.
  • Providing technical support across traffic engineering, active transport, parking management and street lighting initiatives.
  • Assisting with project cost estimating, grant funding submissions and technical support during construction phases.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, equivalent qualification, or extensive civil design experience supported by AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for engineering design and drafting.
  • Previous experience delivering road and drainage design projects within an urban environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Sound time management, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.
