With a focus on operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, the business is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Training Superintendent to lead critical safety and workforce capability initiatives across site operations.
In this role you will provide leadership and strategic direction across health, safety, training, compliance, and workforce development functions.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the implementation and ongoing improvement of site health and safety management systems.
  • Driving a positive safety culture through leadership, engagement, coaching, and visible commitment to safety.
  • Overseeing risk management processes, critical controls, inspections, audits, and assurance activities.
  • Managing significant incident investigations, identifying root causes, and ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Developing and maintaining training, competency, and workforce capability frameworks.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Overseeing emergency preparedness, response planning, and training exercises.
  • Supporting occupational health, wellbeing, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
  • Leading and developing a team while building strong relationships with operational leaders and key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within health, safety, and training functions in mining, resources, construction, manufacturing, or other heavy industry environments.
  • Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Training, or a related discipline.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management practices.
  • Proven experience managing safety management systems, investigations, audits, and compliance programs.
  • Experience developing training and competency frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • A commitment to developing teams and driving positive safety outcomes.
