Your new company
My client is one of Australia's most respected construction companies, delivering high-quality commercial, industrial, retail, and institutional projects across the country. Their portfolio of work includes warehousing and logistics developments, industrial, manufacturing, cold storage and temperature-controlled facilities, food and beverage processing plants, education, pharmaceuticals, automotive and aviation infrastructure.
They require an WHS Safety Officer / Safety Supervisor for a short-term contract role starting after Cup Day until the end of the year. Located in Horsham, Victoria, this afternoon shift role (hours 2pm-10pm) will play a critical part in ensuring site compliance, promoting a positive safety culture, and supporting project teams to maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Your new role

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Facilitate site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Investigate incidents, hazards, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist with preparation and review of risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and safety documentation.
  • Work closely with site management, subcontractors, and workers to promote safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reporting requirements.
  • Drive proactive hazard identification and risk management initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Safety Officer, Safety Advisor, or Safety Supervisor within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
  • Certificate III in Work Health and Safety (minimum).
  • Current Construction White Card.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience managing subcontractor compliance and site safety systems.
