Join a major resources organisation delivering critical technology and infrastructure projects across its South Australian operations. With safety, operational reliability and production continuity at the centre of its investment program, the organisation is seeking a practical Project Manager who can successfully deliver technology into complex field environments.Your new role
Working within a Surface and Non-Process Infrastructure technology team, you will manage control systems, communications and network-related projects from planning through to execution. The portfolio may involve fibre and conduit installations, network cabinets, site access and duress technology, vehicle-mounted equipment, mobile connectivity, power requirements and associated cyber considerations. You will work with engineers, operational stakeholders, vendors, project controls and site teams to turn technical designs into practical delivery plans.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks and project communications
  • Delivering projects with budgets of approximately $2 million to $5 million
  • Developing practical execution schedules and understanding underlying cost estimates
  • Coordinating network, fibre, control systems and field infrastructure activities
  • Chairing risk assessment workshops and maintaining project risk controls
  • Planning work around operational constraints and scheduled shutdowns
  • Assessing safety, production, cyber and change impacts
  • Coordinating vendors, engineers, site personnel and internal stakeholders
  • Providing accurate financial, schedule and delivery reporting
  • Completing agreed site travel during execution activities

What you'll need to succeed
You will have at least five years Project Management experience supported by substantial exposure to networks, fibre, control systems, cabinets or field-based technology infrastructure. You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated management of project budgets between $2 million and $5 million
  • Strong scheduling, financial reporting and risk management capability
  • The ability to interpret technical information and challenge delivery assumptions
  • Experience planning work within operational or shutdown environments
  • Practical problem-solving skills and confidence working through field constraints
  • Strong stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • A strong commitment to safety and operational continuity

Mining or heavy industry experience will be well regarded but is not mandatory. Exposure to Primavera P6, Rockwell PLCs, PlantPAx or AVEVA Plant SCADA would be advantageous.
