About headspace Telepsychiatry

headspace Telepsychiatry is a free national service supporting young people living in rural and remote Australia. We currently partner with 96 headspace centres across the country to improve access to timely, specialist psychiatric care.

By joining our program, you'll contribute to addressing service gaps for young people who may otherwise face significant barriers to care. Your expertise plays an essential role in strengthening clinical decision-making and supporting positive outcomes for young people, their families, and the clinicians who work with them.

Psychiatrists are integral to headspace services, providing specialist assessment, treatment guidance and collaborative support to multidisciplinary teams. Working in this space offers the opportunity to make the meaningful contribution while being supported by an established national program.

At headspace Telepsychiatry, we are committed to ensuring psychiatrists feel supported, connected and valued. Our dedicated team manages administration, appointment coordination, and Medicare billing, enabling you to focus on clinical care. You'll also be part of a collegiate and welcoming professional community, with access to fortnightly psychiatrist catch‑ups and a monthly headspace Psychiatry Peer Support Group, helping ensure you're well supported and not working in isolation.
