School Attendance Officers

School Attendance Officer for Remote School Attendance Strategy. RJCP Activity 35 hours per fortnight and additional hours worked paid at a casual rate. The RSAS in Wurrumiyanga community will target students at Xavier College and MC primary school to promote attendance as a way for them to achieve academic success which will enable them to move onto Senior Secondary (Year 10 - 12). The RSAS team will initially work with the students and their families in their homes and community areas; and assist them to get to school. Duties and times may vary depending on the needs of the community and targeted cohort. SAO's will work in teams across a range of activities within the Wurrumiyanga community. It is proposed that there be a number of initial activities within the main RSAS Activity, namely: 1.Mentoring - Selected SAO team members will provide mentoring to the students to identify and overcome barriers to attendance. 2.Attendance Team - An SAO team under the supervision of a SAS to assist with specific failure to attend students and their parents; Must hold Current Ochre Card.
