GROUNDSKEEPER LOCATION: Tennant Creek POSITION: Casual MUST HAVE: NATIONAL CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK | CURRENT WORKING WITH CHILDREN - OCHRE CARD NT | CURRENT NT DRIVERS LICENSE | CURRENT FIRST AID CERTIFICATE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants will be given priority consideration and preference in selection for any vacancy if they meet the selection criteria and are suitable at the position level. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lawn and Garden Maintenance: Mow, trim and edge lawns using lawnmowers, string trimmers and edgers. Plant, water, fertilise, weed and prune flowers, shrubs and trees using hand tools such as shovels, rakes and pruners Apply pesticides and herbicides using sprayers. Maintain garden beds and pathways Grounds Upkeep: Collect and dispose of rubbish and debris Maintain and repair outdoor furniture and fixtures using basic hand tools. Ensure walkways and driveways are clear and safe Cleaning Duties: Sweep and clean outdoor areas, including patios, walkways and parking lots using brooms, blowers and pressure washers Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor toilets and facilities using cleaning supplies and equipment Empty outdoor rubbish bins and replace liners. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on gardening tools and equipment, such as sharpening blades and cleaning tools. Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair Seasonal Task: Prepare grounds for seasonal changes including preparing for bush fire season and wet season. Essential Criteria: Strong understanding of the needs and challenges of the Aboriginal community Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred
