This is an opportunity for a commercially minded accountant to take a hands-on role across management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and operational performance. The business operates in a fast-paced, people-intensive environment where accurate financial information and strong commercial insight are critical to decision-making. You will have exposure to a broad range of financial and operational matters, including workforce costs, customer profitability, margins, forecasting and process improvement.

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and financial statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial planning.
• Analyse revenue, expenditure, margins and financial performance for management.
• Undertake manufacturing cost accounting, product costing, margin analysis and inventory accounting.
• Complete bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations.
• Support month-end, year-end, BAS, GST, PAYG and other statutory accounting requirements.
• Maintain appropriate accounting controls, records, systems and procedures.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and other financial transactions.

Qualification & experience

Applicants must have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in an accounting role.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting or forecasting.
• Proficiency in accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Experience in manufacturing, food production, product costing, inventory accounting or margin analysis will be highly regarded.
