MRTBARBER PTY LTD is seeking a qualified and experienced Hairdresser to join our professional team on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will provide high-quality hairdressing services to our clients and will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities and a professional approach to their work.

Task & responsibilities

The successful applicant's duties will include:

• Consulting with clients regarding hairstyles, hair care requirements and suitable treatments.
• Cutting, trimming and shaping hair according to client requirements and current styles.
• Shampooing, conditioning and treating hair and scalp.
• Colouring, bleaching, highlighting and tinting hair using appropriate products and techniques.
• Performing blow-drying, styling, straightening, curling and other finishing services.
• Creating hairstyles for special occasions where required.
• Advising clients on appropriate hair care, treatments and products.
• Identifying hair and scalp conditions and recommending suitable treatments or professional advice where appropriate.
• Maintaining and sterilising hairdressing tools, equipment and workstations.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace safety.
• Managing appointments and maintaining accurate client service information where required.
• Providing professional customer service and developing positive relationships with clients.
• Keeping up to date with current hairdressing techniques, styles and industry trends.
• Assisting with stock control and maintaining hairdressing products and supplies.
• Working effectively with other salon team members to provide a high standard of service.

Qualification & experience

Applicants should have:

• Relevant hairdressing qualifications, such as Certificate III in Hairdressing or an equivalent qualification, are preferred.
• A minimum of 12 months of relevant professional experience working as a Hairdresser.
• Demonstrated skills in cutting, colouring, styling and hair treatments.
• Sound knowledge of hair care products, colouring products and hairdressing techniques.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• A professional attitude and commitment to providing high-quality client service.
• Knowledge of workplace hygiene, sanitation and safety requirements.
