AGH Carpentry Services Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Carpenter to join our growing team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will undertake carpentry and framing work across residential construction projects, including constructing and installing timber framing components.

The position requires the ability to interpret construction plans, complete carpentry work accurately and efficiently, and ensure that all work complies with project specifications, quality standards and workplace safety requirements.

Task & responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, materials and installation requirements. 
• Marking out slabs and preparing layouts for walls, windows, doors and other structural components. 
• Selecting, measuring, cutting, shaping and preparing timber and other construction materials. 
• Constructing and erecting timber wall frames, floor structures, roof frames, trusses, partitions and rafters. 
• Assembling and fastening cut and shaped components using nails, screws and other appropriate fasteners. 
• Installing windows, doors, mouldings, fascia panels, external cladding and other carpentry components. 
• Checking the alignment, level, dimensions and trueness of completed structures against plans and specifications. 
• Coordinating with supervisors, project managers and other trades to support an efficient workflow and timely project completion. 
• Identifying and resolving routine carpentry and framing issues encountered on site. 
• Reporting material requirements, shortages, defects and project-related issues to the supervisor. 
• Maintaining tools and equipment in clean, safe and functional condition. 
• Following workplace health and safety procedures and participating in toolbox meetings. 

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV.
• At least one year of relevant work experience as a Carpenter. 
• Sound knowledge of carpentry materials, construction methods, tools and workplace safety requirements. 
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. 
• Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card). 
• Valid driver’s licence.
