Leading Hand needed in Arthur River for a 3-month role with potential long-term options paying up to $40ph+sp.

Your new role

As a leading hand, you will be responsible for supporting the site supervisor in overseeing and coordinating all grain recieval operations.

Main responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:

  • Assist with the on-site grain handling storage facility, including the day-to-day organisation of employees and contractors.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, fostering a productive and skilled workforce.
  • Assist with the overseeing of the receival of grain at the weighbridge, grain sampling, monitoring the flow of grain through our systems and accurate data input into systems.
  • Conduct team meetings to communicate information and promote a collaborative workforce.
    Inventory Management:
  • Oversee the accurate and efficient receiving, unloading, inspection, and segregation of all incoming grain.
  • Oversee and assist with the protection and storage of grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage, including management of tarp assembly/disassembly and maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain grain storage machinery (e.g. front-end loaders, telehandlers) and other site assets.
  • Assist with the coordination of site operations, such as bunker preparation, audits, and equipment hygiene.
  • Participate in the outturn of grain, tarp maintenance, fumigation, site hygiene and upkeep during the non-harvest period.
    Up Country Operations:
  • Assist with routine and preventative maintenance, ensuring it is performed on all equipment to ensure maximum availability, operating efficiency and longevity.


    What you'll need to succeed

    You will need the following:
  • Knowledge and experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) processes
  • Valid and current Western Australia C Class licence.
  • Valid and current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in operating a range of receival and mobile plant equipment

    What you'll get in return

    The role will be for 3 months but has opportunities for permanent work and will pay up to $40ph + super. The role has the option for a DIDO opportunity but does have accommodation available.
