Caffeine Cove is a cafe and eatery at Wyoming Shopping Village on the Central Coast. We run a single kitchen seven days a week, serving an all-day breakfast and brunch menu alongside a lunch menu, with table service and an a la carte offering. We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time, ongoing basis.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

- Preparing, seasoning and cooking food to order across the breakfast, brunch and lunch menus

- Checking the quality of food items and produce on delivery and before service

- Regulating cooking equipment temperatures — ovens, grills, cooktops and fryers

- Portioning, plating and presenting dishes, including sauces and garnishes

- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free orders

- Storing food at correct temperatures and managing stock rotation

- Assisting with menu items, ordering supplies and estimating food quantities

- Training and supervising junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands

- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards

WHAT YOU NEED

- An AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management — OR at least three years of full-time experience working as a cook

- Demonstrated experience cooking to order in a busy cafe, restaurant or comparable commercial kitchen

- Sound working knowledge of food safety and hygiene practice

- Availability to work full time across a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays

- The right to work in Australia in this position

WHAT WE OFFER

- $80,000 per annum plus superannuation

Task & responsibilities
