Dental Assistant

Complete Dental Care

This is a full-time position offering 38 hours per week.

The successful applicant will provide clinical and chairside support to our dentists and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, equipment and materials
• Assist dentists with a range of general dental procedures
• Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments and equipment
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures and relevant practice protocols
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist with patient care before, during and after procedures
• Maintain clean, organised and appropriately stocked treatment rooms
• Maintain accurate clinical and patient records
• Provide professional, friendly and respectful care to patients
• Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, reception staff and other members of the dental team
• Undertake other clinical and practice-related duties as required

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must have:

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent
• Previous experience working as a Dental Assistant
• Sound knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and equipment
• Experience with dental instrument sterilisation and infection control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, friendly and patient-focused manner
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control
