Job Title: Tractor/Harvester Operator (Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator)

Location: 24 Fearn Avenue , Margaret River WA 6285

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Salary: AUD $ 70,000– AUD $ 80,000 (plus superannuation) 

At Teams Work, the Tractor/Harvester Operator is responsible for operating agricultural machinery and tractors across agricultural and horticultural operations. The role involves preparing and cultivating land, sowing and planting crops, applying fertilisers and agricultural treatments, and assisting with harvesting activities. The position requires the safe and efficient operation of machinery to support the timely completion of field and vineyard operations.

Task & responsibilities

  • Ability to conduc routine machinery inspections, servicing and minor repairs.
  • Proficient in preparing and positioning agricultural machinery for safe and efficient operation.
  • Competent in calibrating machinery and attachments to ensure the accurate application of seeds, fertiliser and other materials.
  • Experienced in operating tractors and farm machinery, including grape harvesters, to harvest wine grapes, plough land, sow seeds, apply fertiliser and cultivate crops.
  • Adept at adjusting machinery settings, including harvester height and operating speed, to suit vineyard canopy height and density.
  • Skilled in monitoring harvesting speed and adjusting internal harvester settings to optimise fruit collection while minimising damage to crops, vines and vineyard infrastructure.
  • Ability to operating a tractor fitted with a front-end loader.
  • Competent in operating an excavator, its arm and attachments to safely lift, remove and position grapevines, vineyard posts and other equipment.
  • Capable of maintaining accurate records and preparing basic operational reports.
  • Committed to following workplace health and safety procedures when operating, servicing and maintaining machinery.

  • Proper use of provided protective clothing and equipment.
  • Ability to comply with all instructions given by managers for your own safety or health or for the safety or health of others.    
  • Identify and report hazards, injuries, incidents and/or near misses.

Qualification & experience

Certificate II or III, or at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience as a tractor/harvesters operator.
