Responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, storage, handling and distribution of grain for domestic and international customers. The role involves coordinating grain procurement, inventory management, quality assurance, transport, storage, export logistics and documentation to ensure grain is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with customer, regulatory and export requirements.

Task & responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and oversee the supply, storage and distribution of grain for domestic and international customers.
  • Coordinate grain movements from growers and suppliers to storage facilities, container-loading sites and export terminals.
  • Forecast grain requirements and maintain appropriate stock levels based on seasonal supply, customer orders and export schedules.
  • Oversee grain receival, weighing, sampling, grading, segregation, storage and dispatch operations.
  • Monitor grain quality and ensure compliance with hygiene, contamination-control, biosecurity and export requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage arrangements with grain suppliers, transport operators, warehouses, freight forwarders and port operators.
  • Coordinate road and rail transport, container availability, loading schedules, vessel deadlines and international deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of grain purchases, inventory, storage, movement, dispatch and distribution costs.
  • Prepare and verify invoices, packing lists, weighbridge records, certificates and other required export documentation.
  • Supervise logistics and grain-handling staff, monitor performance, manage operational risks and ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures.
  • Full time permanent job with at least 38 Hours a week.

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management | other relevant discipline.
  • Formal education in grain handling, agricultural commodities or agribusiness
  • Qualification or substantial study in logistics and transport management, preferred 
  • Education or training in international trade and export operations, preferred 
  • Training in workplace health and safety, quality management and food/grain safety, preferred
