Homevent Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and technically capable ICT Support and Test Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis.
Homevent specialises in domestic ventilation and indoor air-quality solutions designed to address issues including damp, mould, condensation, humidity and poor air quality. Our operations rely on effective ICT systems to support our office-based teams, consultants, technicians, customer interactions and day-to-day business processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support across Homevent's ICT environment, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, maintaining cloud and network infrastructure, testing hardware and software functionality, and developing procedures to improve the reliability, security and performance of our technology systems.
You will work closely with users and management to identify technology requirements, resolve technical problems and recommend improvements to Homevent's ICT infrastructure and operational systems.

Task & responsibilities
As an ICT Support and Test Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide advanced technical support across Homevent's ICT environment, investigating, diagnosing and resolving complex issues affecting computers, applications, networks, cloud services, databases, email, printers, peripherals and operating systems.
- Develop and maintain ICT support procedures, troubleshooting processes and technical strategies to improve system reliability and provide consistent support to users across the business.
- Administer and support AWS cloud services and associated infrastructure, monitoring system availability, performance and configuration and resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Maintain and support Homevent's internal networks and connectivity, including routers, switches, wireless networks, VPNs and secure remote-access services used by office and operational personnel.
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, software, operating systems and other ICT equipment used across the organisation.
- Test new and existing hardware, software, system changes and configurations to verify functionality, compatibility, performance and integrity before deployment into the operational environment.
- Develop appropriate test scenarios and procedures, conduct functional and regression testing where required, document identified defects and coordinate corrective action.
- Analyse recurring system faults, performance issues and technical incidents to identify root causes and implement or recommend sustainable solutions.
- Implement and maintain ICT security controls, including firewalls, antivirus/endpoint protection, user access controls, system updates and other measures designed to protect company systems and information.
- Review ICT systems and processes to identify technical risks, performance limitations or departures from established procedures, and recommend corrective actions and system improvements.
- Monitor system performance and conduct technical reviews of Homevent's ICT environment, recommending hardware, software, network and cloud improvements to meet current and future operational requirements.
- Liaise with software providers, technology vendors and external support providers to troubleshoot issues, coordinate system changes and maintain reliable ICT services.
- Provide technical guidance and user support to staff, including assistance with applications, security practices, remote connectivity and operational ICT procedures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, operational procedures, test results, ICT asset records and technical reports.
- Report to management on significant ICT issues, security risks, system performance and recommended technology improvements, and assist with implementing approved changes.
Qualification & experience
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional ICT certifications will be highly regarded.
- Relevant professional experience in ICT support engineering, systems support, infrastructure support or a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex hardware, software, operating system and network issues.
- Experience administering and supporting AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN environments, Wi-Fi, VPNs, routers, switches and remote-access technologies.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Windows-based computers, business applications, printers and peripheral devices.
- Sound understanding of cybersecurity controls, including firewalls, endpoint security, access management, patching and system protection.
- Experience conducting hardware/software testing, diagnosing functionality issues and documenting technical defects and outcomes.
- Ability to analyse technical problems, determine root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Strong technical documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical users and management.
- Ability to manage competing technical priorities and work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
