Townsville Mechanical Fitter Opportunity | $55ph | Temp to Perm

Your new company

Join a well-established industrial operation supporting essential recycling and resource recovery services in North Queensland. Due to increased maintenance requirements, an experienced Mechanical Fitter is required for an immediate start, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.


Your new role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and reliability of fixed plant equipment across a busy processing facility. Working alongside a dedicated maintenance team, you will play a key role in minimising downtime and ensuring plant operations run safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
  • Conducting inspections and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and compliance requirements
  • Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance personnel


What you'll need to succeed

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Experience maintaining fixed plant equipment in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, mining, or processing environments
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to safe work practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Current Driver's Licence
