The Position

Village Pizza Kitchen is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, maintaining food quality and presentation, and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present pizzas, pasta, sides, desserts and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, toppings and other food items for daily service, including portioning and preparation according to menu requirements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure food quality, portion control and presentation are maintained.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas and food storage facilities.
• Assist with stock control, food storage and minimising food wastage.
• Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service.
• Assist with daily kitchen preparation and other duties as required.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as cook
• Minimum Certificate IV in Kitchen Management /Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). 
• Knowledge of pizza preparation, Italian-style cooking and food preparation techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
• A positive attitude, reliability and commitment to high standards of food preparation.
