Plate 8 (GC & KO PTY LTD), located in Welshpool, Western Australia, is a busy local food establishment offering fresh, substantial breakfast and lunch dishes prepared in-house.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Tasks & responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and operating their designated section of the kitchen during preparation and service
• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard
• Ensuring all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
• Coordinating food preparation and service within their section to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Monitoring food quality, freshness and presentation before service
• Assisting with menu preparation, daily specials and seasonal menu changes
• Maintaining appropriate stock levels within their section and assisting with stock rotation and inventory control
• Minimising food waste and ensuring the efficient use of ingredients
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Supporting, supervising and training junior kitchen staff where required
• Working collaboratively with the Head Chef and broader kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety and food-handling requirements

Suitable candidates will be required to:

• Have a minimum of three years of relevant professional cooking experience, including previous experience in a senior kitchen position
• Hold a relevant qualification in commercial cookery or hospitality
• Demonstrate strong cooking and food preparation skills
• Have experience working in a busy commercial kitchen environment
• Be able to manage a kitchen section independently during service
• Have strong organisational and time-management skills
• Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene
• Be reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Be available to work the rostered hours required by the business.

This is a full-time position based in Welshpool, WA.
