About the Role

Red Rose Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team in New South Wales on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of carpentry and construction duties across residential and/or building projects, including construction, installation, renovation and repair of timber structures and fixtures. The role requires a high level of workmanship, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a wider construction team.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from architectural drawings, plans, specifications and measurements to determine materials, dimensions and construction procedures.
  • Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other construction materials accurately.
  • Construct, erect and install timber frameworks, wall frames, roof structures, flooring, doors, windows and other building components.
  • Install and repair doors, window frames, skirting, architraves, cladding, fascia and other fixtures and fittings.
  • Construct and install internal and external structures in accordance with plans and project specifications.
  • Prepare and assemble timber components using hand and power tools.
  • Carry out carpentry work associated with renovations, alterations, extensions and new construction projects.
  • Select, order and prepare appropriate timber, fixings and other materials required for assigned work.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure structures are level, plumb, square and built to the required specifications.
  • Identify and rectify defects, damage or construction issues as required.
  • Maintain accurate measurements and minimise material wastage.
  • Work collaboratively with builders, subcontractors and other trades to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area at all times.
  • Comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements, building standards and company procedures.

Qualification & experience

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry, Construction, or a related field, together with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience; or
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated practical experience working as a Carpenter in lieu of the relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in general carpentry and construction work.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and measurements.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
  • Strong skills in measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber and other building materials.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials and safe work practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and manage tasks in accordance with project schedules.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • A current driver's licence and relevant construction/site licences or tickets will be advantageous.
