GOEL ENTERPRIZES PTY LTD, is seeking a skilled, motivated and experienced Carpenter to join the company's growing construction team on a permanent full-time basis.

This position involves a broad range of carpentry work across residential homes, commercial buildings and warehouse construction projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out structural and finishing carpentry work, including framing, flooring, doors, windows, internal and external fit-outs and other general carpentry duties.

The Carpenter will be required to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications, accurately measure and prepare materials and safely operate carpentry tools and equipment. The role also requires close coordination with builders, supervisors, subcontractors and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently and within required project timeframes.

The successful applicant must be able to work independently when required, as well as effectively as part of a team. A strong commitment to quality workmanship, workplace safety, reliability and attention to detail is essential for this position.

Task & responsibilities

  1. Read and interpret architectural drawings, building plans, specifications and construction instructions.
  2. Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood and other construction materials.
  3. Construct and install wall frames, roof frames, floor structures, roof trusses and other structural components.
  4. Perform first-fix carpentry, including framing, structural work and roof construction.
  5. Perform second-fix carpentry, including installation of doors, door frames, windows, skirting boards, architraves and trims.
  6. Install flooring systems, floor joists, bearers, subfloors and timber decking.
  7. Construct and install stairs, handrails, balustrades, pergolas, verandahs and other timber structures.
  8. Carry out carpentry work associated with residential homes, commercial buildings and warehouse construction.
  9. Undertake maintenance, repairs, alterations and renovation work where required.
  10. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, building requirements and quality standards.
  11. Safely operate and maintain carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment.
  12. Calculate and estimate material requirements and minimise unnecessary material wastage.
  13. Work cooperatively with builders, supervisors, subcontractors and other trades on construction sites.
  14. Identify construction or installation issues and undertake appropriate corrective work.
  15. Maintain a clean, organised and safe worksite and comply with applicable Work Health and Safety requirements.
  16. Assist apprentices, labourers and junior workers with carpentry-related tasks where required.
  17. Perform other duties reasonably associated with the position of Carpenter.

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant qualification ( Higher qualification will be preferred)
  • Construction Industry White Card preferred.
  • Valid driver's licence is an advantage.

Experience and Skill: 

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant carpentry experience is mandatory.
  • Experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
  • Sound knowledge of carpentry methods, construction materials and building practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
  • Ability to use carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet construction deadlines.
