Carry out carpentry work including measuring and cutting timber, framing, installing doors, windows, skirting and architraves, constructing timber structures, repairing and modifying existing structures, and completing finishing work in accordance with plans, specifications and building standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Read and interpret building plans and specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut and assemble timber and other materials.
• Construct and install wall, floor and roof frames.
• Install doors, windows, skirting boards and architraves.
• Complete timber fit-outs, repairs and modifications.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Check completed work for accuracy, quality and compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate with other trades to maintain construction schedules.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualification & experience

• Relevant carpentry qualification or trade certificate.
• Proven experience in residential carpentry and construction.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, framing and installation.
• Competent in using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of Australian building standards and workplace safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
